ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി മേള : അവാര്‍ഡുകളുടെ എണ്ണവും തുകയും വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും - മന്ത്രി തിരുവഞ്ചൂര്‍

കേരള രാജ്യാന്തര ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി - ഹ്രസ്വചലച്ചിത്ര മേളയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള അവാര്‍ഡുകളുടെ എണ്ണവും തുകയും അടുത്ത വര്‍ഷം മുതല്‍ വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുമെന്ന് വനം-പരിസ്ഥിതി ഗതാഗത-സിനിമാ വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി തിരുവഞ്ചൂര്‍ രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്‍ അറിയിച്ചു. കേരളത്തില്‍ നിന്നും അന്യ സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് പോയിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സിനിമാ വ്യവസായത്തെ തിരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതിനാവശ്യമായ നടപടികള്‍ സ്വീകരിക്കും. സിനിമാ നിര്‍മ്മാണത്തിനാവശ്യമായ അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍ വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമിയുടെയും ചിത്രാഞ്ജലിയുടെയും സംയുക്താഭിമുഖ്യത്തില്‍ ചര്‍ച്ച നടത്തുമെന്നും ഒറ്റപ്പാലത്ത് ഫിലിം സിറ്റി സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിന് ആവശ്യമായ നടപടികളെടുക്കുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. 8-ാമത് രാജ്യാന്തര ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി സമാപന സമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ അവാര്‍ഡുകള്‍ വിതരണം ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ട് സംസാരിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.

ദേശ-ഭാഷാഭേദങ്ങള്‍ക്കപ്പുറം വിവധ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍നിന്നുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് ഒത്തുചേരാനുള്ള അവസരവും പുതുതലമുറയ്ക്ക് പുത്തന്‍ ദിശാബോധവും നല്‍കാന്‍ ചലച്ചിത്രമേളകള്‍ക്ക് സാധിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് ചടങ്ങില്‍ അധ്യക്ഷതവഹിച്ച കെ. മുരളീധരന്‍ എം.എല്‍.എ പറഞ്ഞു.

ചടങ്ങില്‍ ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ ടി. രാജീവ്‌നാഥ് ജൂറി അംഗങ്ങളെ പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അവാര്‍ഡുകള്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. പി.സി. വിഷ്ണുനാഥ് എം.എല്‍.എ, ചലച്ചിത്ര അക്കാദമി എക്‌സിക്യൂട്ടിവ് കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗങ്ങളായ രാമചന്ദ്രന്‍ ബാബു, ആര്യാടന്‍ ഷൗക്കത്ത്, സെക്രട്ടറി എസ്. രാജേന്ദ്രന്‍ നായര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ സന്നിഹിതരായിരുന്നു. സാംസ്‌കാരിക വകുപ്പ് സെക്രട്ടറി റാണി ജോര്‍ജ് സ്വാഗതം ആശംസിച്ച ചടങ്ങിന് അക്കാദമി വൈസ് ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ ജോഷി മാത്യു നന്ദി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തി.

ലോങ് ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ മികച്ച ചിത്രമായി ഹൗബം പബന്‍ കുമാര്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ഫ്‌ളോട്ടിങ് ലൈഫ്' തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. ഒരു ലക്ഷം രൂപയും പ്രശസ്തിപത്രവുമാണ് അവാര്‍ഡ്. സഞ്ചു സുരേന്ദ്രന്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'കപില', ജോഷി ജോസഫ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'എ പൊയറ്റ് എ സിറ്റി ആന്റ് എ ഫുട്‌ബോളര്‍' എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് ഈ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ ജൂറി പരാമര്‍ശം ലഭിച്ചു.

മികച്ച ഷോര്‍ട്ട് ഡോക്യുമെന്ററി പുരസ്‌കാരം തനുമോയ് ബോസ് സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'മാന്‍ ആന്റ് ദി ഓഷ്യന്‍' കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. 50,000 രുപയും പ്രശസ്തി പത്രവുമാണ് പുരസ്‌കാരം.

ഷോര്‍ട്ട് ഫിക്ഷന്‍ വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ അതാനു മുഖര്‍ജി സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ദി ഗേറ്റ്കീപ്പര്‍'നെ മികച്ച ചിത്രമായി തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. 50,000 രൂപയും പ്രശസ്തിപത്രവുമാണ് അവാര്‍ഡ്. നിരഞ്ജന്‍ കുമാര്‍ കുജൂര്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ഗോയിങ് ഹോം', കരുണ ബണ്‍സോടെ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ആഫ്റ്റര്‍നൂണ്‍ ലല്ലബി' എന്നിവയ്ക്ക് പ്രത്യേക ജൂറി പരാമര്‍ശം ലഭിച്ചു.

മികച്ച മ്യൂസിക് വീഡിയോയ്ക്കുള്ള പുരസ്‌കാരം അരുണ്‍ സുകുമാര്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'തിയേ'ക്ക് ലഭിച്ചു. 25,000 രൂപയും പ്രശസ്തിപത്രവുമാണ് പുരസ്‌കാരം. കിം യങ് ഹ്യും സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'ബ്യൂട്ടിഫുള്‍ ഗ്രേ' പ്രത്യേക ജൂറി പരാമര്‍ശത്തിന് അര്‍ഹമായി. ക്യാംപസ് ചിത്ര വിഭാഗത്തില്‍ ഇത്തവണ മികച്ച ചിത്രങ്ങളില്ല. അവിനാശ് കുമാര്‍, പ്രഹാസ് നായര്‍, സഞ്ചീവ്കുമാര്‍ എന്നിവര്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'വേ ഹോം' ഉം ബാലു എം.എ., ശ്യാം മുഹമ്മദ്, വീരേശ് ഐ.വി. എന്നിവര്‍ സംവിധാനം ചെയ്ത 'റിഫ്‌ളക്ഷന്‍സ്' പ്രത്യേക ജൂറി പരാമര്‍ശത്തിനര്‍ഹമായി.

പ്രശസ്ത ഛായാഗ്രാഹകന്‍ നവാസ് കോണ്‍ട്രാക്ടര്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയ മികച്ച ഛായാഗ്രാഹകനുള്ള അവാര്‍ഡ് ഇറോം മൈപാക് അര്‍ഹനായി. 15,000 രൂപയും പ്രശസ്തിപത്രവുമാണ് പുരസ്‌കാരമായി ലഭിച്ചത്.

More Awards and Cash-prize Hike from Next Fest Onwards: Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan

More awards in various film categories and a hike in cash prize would be granted from the next film festival onwards, assured Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Minister for Forest, Transport, Sports and Cinema. The Minister also promised to establish a film city in Ottapalam, the first of its kind in the state, to create more filmmaking opportunities in Kerala. He was speaking while inaugurating the closing ceremony of 8th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala at Kairali theatre at 6 p.m. The Minister distributed the awards for the best film across the different categories.

K. Muraleedharan, MLA, presided over the function. He said that this festival gives an opportunity for people from diverse culture, tradition and race to meet and gather. KSCA chairman T. Rajeev Nath introduced the Jury members and announced the results.

‘Floating Life’ directed by Haobam Paban Kumar won the Best Documentary award. ‘Man and the Ocean’ directed by Tanumoy Bose won the short documentary section. The best long documentary award carried a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh while the best short documentary award carried a cash prize of Rs. 50,000/- and a certificate.

Sanju Surendran’s ‘Kapila’ and Joshy Joseph’s ‘A Poet, A City and A Footballer” was given a special mention by the Jury from Long Documentary category.

Atanu Mukherjee’s ‘The Gatekeeper’ won the prize for the best short fiction film, which has a cash prize of Rs.50,000 and a certificate. Niranjan Kumar Kujur’s ‘Going Home’ and Karuna Bansode’s ‘Afternoon Lullaby’ got special mention in this category.

‘Theiyye’ won the award for the best music video which was directed by Arun Sukumar. The film won a cash prize of R.s 25,000 and a certificate. ‘Beautiful Grey’ by Kim Jung Hyun got a special mention in this category.

There is no best film in the campus film section. But the Jury gave a special mention for two campus films which were ‘Way Home’ directed by Avinash Kumar, Prahas Nair and Sajeev Kumar MS and ‘Reflection’ directed by Balu BA, Sham Mohammed and Veeresh I. V.

Irom Maipak who was the cinematographer of the film ‘Floating Life’ was selected for the ‘Navroz Contractor Award for the Best Cinematographer’ donated by eminent cinematographer Mr Navroze Contractor. It consists a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 and certificate.

PC Vishnunath, MLA, Cultural Affairs Secretary, Rani George IAS, KSCA Vice Chairman Joshy Mathew, Academy executive committee members Ramchandrababu and Aryadan Shoukath, Secretary S Rajendran Nair took part in the function.
