Each documentary is a fresh experimental attempt by the director, in which
s/he tries to create a new idea in the viewer’s mind, said by Jayapraad Desai,
the director of ‘Cine-maa’ who participated in the first session of
‘Face to Face’ held in the Kairali theatre premise.
The programme which commenced at 5pm was moderated by documentary filmmaker
and popular critic CS Venkiteswaran with the directors Pranav Harihar
Sharma(Watermelon),Haobam Paban Kumar (Floating Life),Sandeep
Mane(Paandhrya),Sameer Patwardhan(Because of Her),Anand Ekarshi (The Invisible
Strand),Jayapraad Desai(Cine-maa),Diya Banerjee(The Hope Doctors). While
discussing about the opinions about the performance of IDSFFK Pranav Harihar
Sharma appreciated the “punctuality of this festival making it stand out from
all the others”.
All the participants of this session communicated with the audience about
their films and the kind of efforts that they have all taken for its success.
Introducing a new level of compassionate hospital treatment termed ‘medical
clowning’ through her film “The Hope Doctors”, Diya Baneerje expressed her wish
to bring such types of innovations to the hospitals of our country, making the
medical treatment methods, more friendly and approachable.
