Face to face programme conducted as a part of the 8th IDSFFK made a platform for directors to share their filmmaking experiences to the audience and to promote them to capture new ventures in the field of filmmaking. The discussion began with Anvar Ali, director of Maruvili, who spoke about the difference between poetry and visual medium. He also described the difficulty faced by the director while translating a visual from poetry.
Maga Tamizh prabhagaran, director of Manipur:The Land of Tears said that he faced many judicial procedures and court orders while making the film. He also mentioned that by making this documentary, he came to understand the exact situation of the north eastern states as opposed to the information gathered through media.
Joshy joseph, director of A Poet, A City and A Footballer requested the academy to screen the films which will be awarded in documentary festival at IFFK. Joshy joseph also shared his personal experience as being a film director
The director of ‘Mother Tongue’, Sindhu Sajan, explained that her film is about the crisis that is happening in the mother-tongue language of people in Attapadi, a region in Kerala populated with adivasi groups.
Spandan Banerjee, director of English India opined that the director will be more experienced and more practical in the society after making each film. Film Director Kamal K.M,moderated the programme
