Although symbolism enhances poetic expression, it is not well-suited for films, opined Sanju Surendran director of Kapila. He was speaking at a press meet conducted as a part of the 8th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala. He also elaborated the narrative techniques he used in his documentary.
‘People perceives the film as just a video, rather than trying to acquire the actual message that it conveys’ said Jyothish Kumar Nath director of ‘Stroke in Life’. He added, while making a documentary it helps to criticize himself (director) and explore new ventures of film. Amit Kuma, the director of Metro appreciated the positive attitude of Malayalees towards socialistic and capitalistic changes happening in the world. Talking about his film ‘Metro’ he opined that the actual hands behind the construction of metro are poor men but they are eventually disregarded.

Mujeeb Khureshi (Visarjan), Sandeep Banerjee(Death) and Fr.Jiji kalavanal were present at the press meet which was moderated by Kamal K M.
